After last week’s barrage of spiritual articles, this week has been much slower. Still, a few terrific articles were posted, as Alexander of Ashita no Anime concluded his Madoka > Jesus series.
Alexander claims that Jesus creates some kind of co-dependency as a savior, which Madoka does not. [Ashita no Anime]

I highly recommend you read through Alexander’s series, which is quite thought-provoking. His tone may be off-putting (I’ll admit, I didn’t comment on a number of posts because I felt too emotional to leave comments due to how Alexander references Christ at times), but it’s one that has led to some good debate. And as such, I recommend, also, that you read the comments following the entries as closely as the post themselves.

I’m sorry my tone came off as harsh (truthfully I thought I was restraining myself) but it’s just a testament to my perspective on how things are. I give Jesus, Yahweh and Allah as much credence as any believer of those religions would give to Zeus, Thor, Mars, or Amun Ra. I do want to be clear that I don’t think Jesus was a bad guy, because he most certainly was not (preaching to the choir on this point, I know). He did plenty of good and I’m all for loving people and helping those less fortunate. But if Jesus existed, to me he was just another guy and my interpretation of scripture is that Jesus got a lot of things wrong. =P
I’m surprised I commented as much as I did, particularly since I avoid argument as much as possible, but I felt too strongly about several of my points. I definitely concur that the posts are worth reading, though. Although I entirely disagree with essentially everything he had to say, it is still best to think through these topics instead of taking a side based solely on what you have always believed.
I appreciate your comments on the posts. They definitely needed some response, and for a few reasons, I don’t think I could have adequately responded through Alexander’s site or my own.
I’m not very keen on reading the articles, but I feel like praising you (probably again) on your tolerance for people with different beliefs 🙂
