Farewell, Zeroe4

As you can tell from the title of this post, I (Zeroe4) am retiring from Beneath The Tangles. I love this site. It has been a massive honor and privilege to be a part of this community, and I am so thankful to its founder, Charles (TWWK), for inviting me to join. I originally found this blog in 2011 when I was searching for Christians who liked anime via the internet. I felt like I must have been the only one. I then found a mention about the Aniblogger Testimonies. I started reading the ones that were posted and immediately fell in love with the project and the site. I kept thinking about it for the next few days, and eventually decided to submit my own testimony. And that is how I met Charles. I talked with him and a few other bloggers for awhile via Twitter, but didn’t officially join the blog till Charles invited me in 2012. Since then, I have posted on and off, while still really enjoying reading the posts of the other bloggers.

Now, back on topic. I am leaving the blog. This has been a really hard decision. I love Beneath The Tangles. I also really love the community and people with whom I work. However, I have reached a new season in my life in which I am having to let go of a lot of commitments. I have a lot of new commitments at the YWAM (Youth with a Mission) Base, such as Media Team, and I will be Staff on our next DTS, which starts in June. I am also in a very serious relationship and am working with my girlfriend to write a Graphic Novel/Manga was part of our ministry in Japan. This Graphic Novel/Manga is part of our dream and calling in Japan. Because of all of this, I was put in a position where I could no longer post, and so I believe it is time to move on.

God sometimes asks us to give up good things. He works by trading glory for a greater glory. He takes our good, to give us something better, but we have to be willing to give up the good inorder to receive the better. In a lot of ways, I feel like the blog is the good. It is part of the original dream God gave me. The Graphic Novel is another part of the dream, but I can’t receive it until I let go of the good thing in it’s place, which is the blog. And so I am letting go, believing that the best is still to come.

So, I bid you farewell. I am excited to see the directions the blog has been going. JP (Japesland) has been doing a fantastic job, and I am so excited to see the things he has been doing and where he is guiding the blog. I am sad that I won’t be able to be a part of it. And to the readers, thank you for reading and encouraging us all of these years. You guys have made this so enjoyable and well worth it. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Zeroe4

  1. Wow! God is leading you in His perfect timing! It’s great that you’re taking a step of faith, and I pray, according to God’s will, that He will use your Graphic Novel/Manga to lead Japan’s heart closer to Jesus. May God continue to be your strength even in this new season.

  2. Thank you for all your support and encouragement. I can’t wait to see how things turn out. It’s so encouraging to be apart of this community. See you guys again in the future.

  3. Zeroe4, you have done a great job influencing the anime community, and I pray that the Holy Spirit does tremendous work through you in your manga. I haven’t read many of your articles, given that I have only recently joined the aniblogging scene a few months ago, but I know that you have made an impact for His kingdom.

  4. Good luck, and thank you for all that you did here on the blog. I’m looking forward to seeing the work y’all create!
