I agree with JP concerning Clannad+Clannad After Story; I saw both the VN and anime and found the anime superior.
I liked the first episode of the Rewrite anime, although I admit the introduction to the characters was a bit too short. Also, I think I agree with those advocating the anime-only viewers to not see the VN (or if they really want to see the VN, to see it first before the anime), since it does spoil a bit and damage the experience of reading the VN..

I think you’re spot-on with your Rewrite anime analysis, though I would add on my plug for the original VN, which I think will ALWAYS be a better experience than the anime in this particular case, no matter how spectacular (or, conversely, terrible) it ends up being.

Agreed to the Rewrite anime vs VN comparison. Clannad was a rare exception; the anime got rid of the excess, IMHO, and adapted the main routes superbly.
