TangleCast 13: Rewrite, Rewrite, Rewrite!

This week, JP (Japesland) and Kaze blabber on for days about Rewrite, one of Key’s most recent and most phenomenal visual novel works and a source of excitement for the summer anime season this year. What makes it so great? Why is it a must-read for anyone interested in spirituality or religion, especially Christians? What should we expect from the anime? Listen in to find out!

As always, every episode of The TangleCast will be covering a different topic, from anime reviews, to discussions on spirituality, to listener mail, and everything in between. Please join the conversation by commenting below or submitting a question at our contact page!

  1. I agree with JP concerning Clannad+Clannad After Story; I saw both the VN and anime and found the anime superior.

I liked the first episode of the Rewrite anime, although I admit the introduction to the characters was a bit too short. Also, I think I agree with those advocating the anime-only viewers to not see the VN (or if they really want to see the VN, to see it first before the anime), since it does spoil a bit and damage the experience of reading the VN..

    1. Hurrah, finally someone who agrees with me!

I think you’re spot-on with your Rewrite anime analysis, though I would add on my plug for the original VN, which I think will ALWAYS be a better experience than the anime in this particular case, no matter how spectacular (or, conversely, terrible) it ends up being.

      Thanks for listening and commenting!

      1. Agreed to the Rewrite anime vs VN comparison. Clannad was a rare exception; the anime got rid of the excess, IMHO, and adapted the main routes superbly.
