TangleCast 28: Writing Episodically (Staff Feature: Lynna)

This week we officially kick off a new regular TangleCast special that features members of the Beneath the Tangles staff who don’t normally appear on the podcast. To get things started, JP (Japesland) and Kaze chat with one of our longtime writers, Lynna, about a style of post in which she has accumulated significant experience: episodic articles.

Over the past few years, Lynna has penned episodic articles series on anime like Orange, Kiznaiver, and Mekakucity Actors, which we highly recommend you check out! Writing in this style, with a new article for every one or two episodes, presents ideas in a significantly different way than is normally present in the editorials that make up the majority of Beneath the Tangles’ content.

Interested in being a writer? Already a writer? Just curious about anime? No matter your demographic, there’s something for you in this episode!

As always, every episode of The TangleCast will be covering a different topic, from anime reviews, to discussions on spirituality, to listener mail, and everything in between. Please join the conversation by commenting below or submitting a question at our contact page!

  1. I give anyone who does episodic reviews a lot of credit. Many of my articles are also written based on a theme I discern in an episode or even a single line, but to do that for every episode is very hard. Thanks for an excellent podcast!

    1. I have the same respect! I have often used the authorial style that you described, and to do that every week, much less for consecutive episodes of the same series, seems so difficult to me!
