Wedding Guestbook: Wish Our Own Emdaisy1 Congratulations on Her Wedding Day!

Tomorrow is a special day for one of our own! Emma (Emdaisy1), our webmaster and Jill of all trades, is getting married! The three of us who are already in that blessed state – Samuru, MRNewman, and myself – are offering just a few words about marriage below, but we’d love for you as readers to help us wish a blessed day and marriage by commenting so that this post will serve as our guestbook for Emma. Thanks in advance for the comments and helping to make her day just a teensy bit more special!

Samuru’s Words of Wisdom

Hey there Emma, I just want to start by saying how happy it is to know you’re joining the married club! It is a blessing from God to be united to the one you love. Knowing that you have your best friend beside you during the good and bad of life, gives you a strength you wouldn’t have alone. Keep Christ the foundation of everything you do together, be yourselves, make time to take dates, and encourage each other. You both have great potential, and I pray in Jesus name that you will fulfill all the dreams He has for you as a family, and individually. God bless!

MRNewman’s Counsel

First, congratulations Emma. I know Michael already welcomed you into the married club, so I won’t re-emphasize the point. There were many pieces of advice I was given before getting married, but only one thing that I truly remember and hold with me. The Pastor who married me and my wife (over 10 years ago) told us that our life was like a triangle with the Lord at the top peak. As long as we both are trying to reach the Lord, we will grow closer to one another in the process. Putting the Lord at the center of your marriage will help. We falter in that sometimes. Life gets in the way of our own best intentions. Yet even baby steps toward that goal will bring you closer together. May He bless and protect your marriage. May He guide you both in the future and may you both keep Him at the center.

TWWK’s Guidance

Marriage is a beautiful thing, but it can be terrifying, too. How can two people who are sinners by themselves unite together and make it work? Sometimes, it just doesn’t – our terrible selves get in the way. Thankfully, we aren’t on our own. As you worship God through your marriage, remember that there’s nothing grace can’t heal. You’ll be challenged to be gracious often and occasionally to the extreme, and if you’re like me, you’ll forget to be gracious or you’ll choose your pride and sense of justice above mercy and love. Don’t. Don’t let busyness and difficulties cloud your love for your spouse, and if it does, when it does, lean back on Christ and his graciousness and let that strengthen you to love when you’re not able, and give when you have nothing left. God bless and take care!

Please give your own well wishes to Emma in the comment section below!

  1. Congratulations, Emma! I pray you guys have many happy years together. Take one day at a time and savor it, be fully present. The Lord has given you to each other -never take that for granted.

  2. Congratulations, Emma! May God help you to be both the maid and the president from Proverbs 31 day by day; may He help you two grow together throught each other, like Taiga and Ryuji; may He provide you a new chance for loving everyday, as Subaru had, may he help you to build and regain your trust, may He give both of you miracles like the one of After Story, to find the other again as a sign, a river of His grace when all seems lost, may you overcome evil and sorrow together as in the book of Tobit. Thank you for your amazing posts: I´ll pray for you and your husband from now on, that´s a promise. God bless!

  3. I hope to be able to tune in tomorrow! I hope you have a blessed wedding and wonderful start to your marriage. God bless!

  4. Emma, I wanted to say congratulations, and I rejoice, knowing you are a mature and Godly person. I pray your marriage will be a tremendous blessing for you and your husband. I pray God will use that to bring the both of you joy, and that He will give both of you joy through each other. “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church—for we are members of his body. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24) This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.” ~ Ephesians 5:25-33, New International Version

I pray that your marriage will be everything wonderful that you and your husband were wanting it to be, and more, and that by God’s grace and by yours and your husband’s continual edification and maturity, you through our Lord Christ Jesus will make it so.

  5. Congratulations to you and your groom, Emma! May God bless you both always. My tips are to find something- reading books, devotionals together, going for walks, watching anime, whatever you both enjoy that brings you closer to one another & the Lord, and make it a good habit. And look each other in the eye from time to time and say “You are my Family”. There’s power in that.

    1. “Look each other in the eye from time to time and say, ‘You are my Family.'” That was beautiful, and it definitely makes me want to make healthy, Godly decisions on what kinds of people I seek to date–do I really want to become one in body, mind, heart, and spirit with this person?

  6. I’m not married and I’m not dating either, so I don’t have much to say in regards to your recent marriage. However, what I do know is that God knows a lot more than the both of us; don’t stop seeking answers from Him. Press into your relationship with Jesus, spend time in the Word, and keep in constant prayer with Him. I’m confident that being a person filled with the Holy Spirit that is bearing fruit will do wonders in your marriage and also encourage Adam to be a Godly man. Wish you the best, Emma!

  7. Congratulations to Emma on your marriage! I also got married a little over a year ago and honestly not much has change between my husband and I since we were as open with one another as possible right from the very beginning. Communication is one of the keys to our success and happiness. We listen carefully to each other and take into consideration the feelings and standpoints of the other.
I also hope both of you always make room for both of your interests, be that anime, or some other hobby. I can’t count the number of times I thought an activity of his was uninteresting or out of my comfort range, like rock climbing, but once I tried it out myself, I found something new to add to my interests. Likewise, he isn’t as familiar as I am with musicals and symphony concerts, but is more than happy to attend them with me. Life’s too long of a journey for only one person’s desires to always be fulfilled—strive to look out at vistas together, rising to heights as a team instead of one person propping up the other.
