On a cold autumn day, Rin takes a trip to a lakeside campground in Motosuko to look at Mt. Fuji. That night, she meets up with a girl, Nadeshiko, who just moved to the area and took a bike trip to see the same mountain, but fell asleep and did not wake up until after dark. Rin decides to treat the girl to some cup noodles while the two of them await a nice moonlit view of Mt. Fuji.

If you’re looking for a nice, relaxing iyashikei-style slice-of-life for this season, Laid-Back Camp (Japanese name: Yuru Camp) definitely fits the bill. The episode’s slow pace won’t be to everyone’s tastes, but if you need something to chill out to, this show’s use of nature scenery and background music sets that mood quite well; the buildup to the moonlit Mt. Fuji in particular is really nice. The girls introduced are a fun duo, as well, with more likely to appear soon, and the animation makes them more lively, especially with how one girl enjoys a cup of curry ramen. And if all that was not enough, the episode even throws in some educational narration on starting campfires! Overall, this is exactly my type of show so of course I will be watching it. Those who like relaxing slice-of-life shows or who want to learn more about camping will likely also find this show to be worthwhile.
