Happy Mother’s Day (from Sasuke, Naruto, and Gaara)!

Just a little joy and a little heartbreak for your Mother’s Day (hehe)! I hope you’ll honor your mothers today in your own way, whether they are wonderful or deeply flawed, with you in person or far away, still mothering or deceased. And for those readers that are moms—a very happy Mother’s Day to you!

  1. One of the great redeeming qualities is how Naruto gets to see his dad and have a chat with his mom after years of thinking the worst and feeling abandoned as an orphaned and considered a troublemaker and pariah of the village because of the fox.

    1. I’ve only read the manga treatment of that scene—I really should watch some of those later key elements in the anime series that I missed!

      1. I haven’t read much of the manga but if I remember correctly it’s not significantly different. Still I must say his mom’s conversation is a tearful reunion ending in freeing Naruto from the last vestiges of his shame and woundedness. He already confronted himself at the waterfall but this gave him the power to resist the seduction of hatred from the Fox. Leaving him free of his self loathing.
