TangleCast 43: A Very Merry Attack on Titan Christmas

What does the lowly birth of Christ in a manger have to do with season three of Attack on Titan, and especially that scoundrel, Kenny Ackerman? Far more than you could possibly imagine. Join Matthew of Team Anchester as he prepares us for Christmas by explaining an unexpected connection.

Here’s this week’s CQ (Cast Question): What do you think of Attack on Titan so far?

  1. My impression of AoT after watching several episodes was “ehhh.” I saw some mildly interesting elements but nothing that really grabbed my attention. And the violence got pretty…icky. I just didn’t feel like AoT was interesting or enjoyable enough to be worth spending my time on. It’s one of those series that enough people seem to love that I might try to give it another chance someday and see if I’m simply missing something right now, but that’s my current take on the show.

    1. Attack on Titan, I think, is a take it or leave it kind of show. Your experience is the same for many, though like Matthew, I do have a soft spot for the series!

  2. This has nothing to do with the podcast, but I’m watching Fireworks (the anime movie) tonight! 😀

      1. I liked it. I felt like the story went in a good direction. But I could also understand why it wasn’t highly praised.

  3. I didn’t think you could make the shoe fit with any amount of shoehorning but darn it you made it without even seeming like you broke a sweat. Bravo
I watched a little of AoT, but I was completely turned off to it when there was a scene with a group of people singing in what looked like a religious choir, and a titan just smashes their building. To me when a series does something like that it definitely feels like a figurative attack against faith, and it’s tough for me to enjoy a series thinking the writers object to the beliefs that I stand for even if the series is otherwise good.

Thank you for answering my question from the last episode. I would love to actually organize a community gathering night for discussion, communal video/movie watching, and/or games myself if people are interested. I’ll try to hop onto Discord each day in the mornings and before noon PST and after 9pm and on the weekends.
