The Delusional Monthly Magazine publishes all kinds of strange stories, but even they are not ready for the craziness of scientist Gorou Satou. When this man enters the publishing house, Taro and Jiro are not ready for what he has to tell them. He is a researcher of a mysterious land called the Mo continent, where Motarians lived. This ancient civilization had access to immense power, and Satou wants to find out what happened to them. He isn’t the only one interested in these magical powers though, which leads to all three of them being chased by shady guys who want to take Satou’s magical MOpart. After Satou accidentally smashes his magical item against Taro’s head, he transforms into a powerful tiger-man creature. The bad guys stand no chance against this creature and are completely defeated. But now our three protagonists must find a way to uncover the mystery of the Motarians before this evil organization beats them to it.

Unfortunately, it’s hard to say anything positive about this episode. I found it difficult to keep track of what was happening, and it felt like there wasn’t even an attempt to make the viewer care about anything or anyone. The “comedy” didn’t help either, to say the least. I was cringing so hard that I had to pause multiple times to recover a bit. I’m not even sure if it’s simply the plot that’s so bad or the directing. I noticed that the voice acting seemed to be off. Some of the characters say their lines in a tone that doesn’t fit with the situation, especially Jiro. In the same way, the soundtrack felt a bit too forceful. The animation is fine for the most part. The final nail in the coffin for me though was the sneak peak at the end, where we see new characters that will appear later, when I don’t even care about the three characters introduced in this episode. I will most definitely not be continuing this anime.
