I love the sense of scale in this photo, the wonder and longing in Rei looking upward and at Unit-01 knowing that she unsuccessfully piloted it and that Shinji uses it now, and the bareness of a landscape that might not be Japan. What a lovely piece of Evangelion fanart!

Ooo, I like this! It has a very solemn feel to it. I like how the picture is framed where it focuses on the robot and the character, but I also think it would be striking if it was a panoramic with a wide open field and a lone figure with a giant robot in the distance.
Yes! That would be cool to see, too!
