[twwk] Ten years ago today (yesterday in Japan), after being delayed nearly a month due to the Tohoku earthquake, the final two episodes of Puella Magi Madoka Magica, a magical girl series unlike any other—truly an anime unlike any other—aired, featuring a breathtaking and powerful ending fitting with the rest of this artfully crafted and often heartbreaking series.
[twwk] Episode two was considerably more enjoyable than episode one of Osamake, probably because the characters were more likable. However, Shida remains a typical childhood friend character—which seems like the plan for now, before the audience begins to root for her, too, at some point, in addition to Kachi.
[joseph] Another show that went completely under my radar - the first 2 episodes were really fun and visually beautiful. Judging the show solely on its title, it's not something I would ever pick up if I randomly stumbled upon it. But I found out that Nisioisin wrote it, (who wrote the Monogatari series) and Shaft animated it so that sold me.
