So…this is a game. Yes, a PC game that was released by KFC (the fast-food chain) as a gimmick on dating sims. If you enjoy that genre of games and fried chicken, well, welcome to Heaven.

Someone on Discord mentioned this game and that it was free, and being that I like that price I wanted to try it. After watching the trailer, I wasn’t sure what I was getting into though.

You find this funny dialogue throughout the game

I’ve only played a few minutes of other dating games, and they are definitely not for me. This one looked so ridiculous, I thought at least it would make me laugh, and that I did!

The premise is simple. You play as a girl who is in love with Colonel Sanders while attending the University of Cooking School. He is an amazing chef and you are enamored by his skills and good looks, so you have to make the right choices when prompted to continue playing or risk losing his interest.

If you make the wrong choice, you get a game over and you just try again. The game is dialogue-heavy, as is standard fare for dating sims. What makes you want to continue reading is the way the game makes fun of itself. The creators knew what they were making, and they do not take this seriously at all, which I thought was great!

There are chicken jokes galore, as well as characters that are ridiculous and situations that make no sense. I’m glad they went this route because if they tried to make this game a “real” game with marketing and heavy production, it would have been a flop.

The other characters are Miriam, the bestie, and love rivals Aeshleigh and Van Van the Man Man (I’m not making this stuff up). They add extra humor throughout the game and are also aspiring chefs in the University.

Jojo’s Fried Chicken Adventure

It’s a short game—I would say about 2 hours or so if you are reading most of the dialogue. I started skipping a lot of it around the end as it was pretty boring to me and the silliness was getting old for me.

Colonel Sanders is inspiring and very passionate about starting his restaurant franchise, which I thought was clever to promote in the game. You can tell he really loves his chicken and wants the whole world to taste his recipes and be successful.

If you are looking for a laugh, I recommend downloading this game and just check it out. For those that enjoy dating sims, you will probably understand this game better than I did!

Grab a bucket, some biscuits, and let the Colonel know how much you love him!

You can download the game on Steam here

  1. Thanks! Yeah it was just…ridiculous and silly. I caught myself laughing several times. I’m not into these types of games AT ALL, but I did it for the laughs.
