First Impression: Life With an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated Into a Total Fantasy Knockout

Two “old guys” (32-years-old) go to a mixer to meet girls—or so they claim. Actually, Tachibana secretly hopes Jinguji will finally fall in love with a woman and get hitched. You see, Jinguji is so attractive that no women will give Tachibana the time of day when they’re together. And they’re always together, because Jinguji is over-protective of Tachibana and wants to ensure that he only ties the knot with a woman Jinguji approves of.

Also, Jinguji is not interested in women in the least. When Tachibana asks why, well…

In case you’re curious, the official word for this… proclivity… is “ichthyophile”. Also, TMI, dude!

In any case, a mysterious (and annoying) naked goddess of love kills them so they can reincarnate into her world. Jinguji appears exactly as he did in our world, but Tachibana turns into a loli blonde. The two friends anger the goddess, and she curses them… by turning Jinguji straight and cranking their hormones up higher than an 18-year-old’s.

This gives you exactly the kind of stereotyped comedy that you’d expect, and also which I hope they’d avoid. The guy is perfect and OP, while the girl’s “skill” consists of irresistible beauty or something. Gender stereotypes abound. I can’t say I recommend this series, but I can say it isn’t the worst I’ve ever seen, and that it does occasionally rise above the standard jokes. I’m always up for more isekai, so I’ll be watching it.

You, too, can watch the characters complain that 32 is old on Crunchyroll.

  1. As much as I like isekai, this is equal parts awful and nonsensical. Does it have any redeeming qualities?

      1. After watching the first episode, it wasn’t that bad. I will at least give it 1 or 2 more episodes.
