At “heart,” Chainsaw Man is a series about a boy and his “dog.” It was a thrill for manga readers to hear Pochita’s voice in episode one of the anime and to witness their bond forged. Chainsaw Man explodes in different directions from here, but this pairing helps to ground the series, at least in my mind, when it blasts off far, far away from where it began.
