12 Days of Christmas Anime, Day 8: Throwback Thursday and Favorite Christmas Posts

Welcome to a spirited edition of Throwback Thursday! Yes, we’re joining the “Spirit of Christmas Past” today as we cross TBT over with our 12 Days of Christmas Anime series!

We’ve been doing this series for more than a decade now, resulting in more than 100 posts about Christmas anime. Can you believe that? And every single one has a place in my heart for sure. Some, however, have floated to the top in terms of popularity. Here are the three posts that have received the most views. Excellent pieces, all, but they may surprise you!

1. 12 Days of Christmas “Anime,” Day 10: The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten

Before the anime aired, and before my own post on the series that started this year’s Christmas countdown, @stardf29 wrote an article about the light novel version of The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten. It’s a very insightful post about the “first volume” of Christ’s life and about our own need to be empathetic to others.

2. 12 Days of Otaku Christmas, Day 6: Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan

Everyone’s favorite psychic, Saiki Kusuo, naturally has a very troublesome day when he celebrates Christmas. @ryuusei86, our resident “sensei,” discusses this episode, which stretches from Christmas into the New Year.

3. 12 Days of Christmas Anime, Day 7: Space Brothers

@cajunsamurai’s post about the Space Brothers Christmas episode discusses the anxiety that comes with not knowing what’s in store for the future. Where are we going? Are we on the right path? Are we making the right decisions? God knows, and that’s reason to push away our worries!

And hey, since this is a Throwback Thursday, why not enjoy a few other wonderful posts, these all from the past couple of years:
