I’m a sucker for AU (alternate universe) versions of anime series—not so much the chibi kind we sometimes get from studios, like those that put shonen characters in a school setting, but those which would put characters in common situations that would have them, with all their personalities, living out “real life.” While few anime offer such scenarios, we can turn to creative fans who write fan fiction and draw fanart to show us what they might look like. Here’s a new favorite of mine depicting what the Dungeon Meshi group might look like if they were in a more modern, regular setting!
