Every Olympics, viewers latch onto sports that we never otherwise watch, gripped by the competition and the competitors. Early in the Olympics, our collective attention was focused on 10m air pistol, where two unknowns (at least on the world stage and certainly in America) suddenly shot into the spotlight: the beautiful and super cool Kim Ye-Ji of South Korea and the older, more laid-back, but just as cool Yusuf Dikec of Turkey. Memes a’plenty were made and, to our delight, anime-style art!

Oh, I watched that competition on TV! This is awesome. I love that even anime artists are getting into the Olympic spirit!
It’s really cool because for past world competitions, I’ve mostly only seen them draw Japanese competitors; this time around, we’re getting others, too!
