Howl’s Moving Castle was released in North American theaters 20 years ago this summer. Can you believe it’s been so long? The movie still holds up in virtually all ways, including its animation, writing, themes, and characterization. I especially continue to love Howl and his depth (and sometimes lack of it). Check out this wonderful portrait, which captures some of that intensity in his soul.

Oh, wow! This is so beautiful! It really captures the elegant beauty of Sophie at the end of the story. I love that she’s wearing Howl’s ear ring! It totally seems like something Howl would give as a present so they can be matchy.
