The first episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion aired 30 years ago tomorrow—October 4, 1995. Love it (like me!), hate it, or be indifferent to it, it’s almost impossible to overestimate the impact the franchise has had on anime. Happy anniversary, Evangelion!
