First Impression: The World’s Strongest Witch

Lorna has just been disowned by her noble family. In this world, people have skills ranked from A (the best) to G (the worst), and Lorna’s skill—the strangely named “Internet”—is SSS. Clearly a skill so far below even the lowly G-rank, it must be disgracefully worthless, right? But Lorna isn’t quite as fussed about this turn of events as you might expect—she’s actually quite happy to be granted freedom like she’s never had before. After unsuccessfully trying to use the Internet in combat, she figures out her skill grants access to an unbelievable amount of information—including what amounts to a comprehensive strategy guide for her RPG-like world…

That was ridiculous in the very best way. This premiere is chock-full of internet and video game humor, and it had me smiling or chuckling constantly. Amid all the levity, Lorna inadvertently acquires phenomenal cosmic power, and we get hints of broader repercussions for her actions as the story sets her up to have even more hilarious (mis)adventures. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode and definitely recommend it if you have any interest in a good fantasy-comedy.
