Several months ago, I started watching Chrono Crusade, which portrays a young nun and a demon as they try to stop other demons in 1920s New York City. To celebrate my decision to finally post my final thoughts on the series, I’ve decide to give away the review copy of Chrono Crusade provided by the lovely folks at FUNimation.

My favorite nun is Eda, from “Black Lagoon”. She’s my favorite because she drinks, curses, deals in bootlegs, and kills people, yet is somehow still a Nun.
I’ve always had a soft spot for Angela from One Pound Gospel. Been awhile since I’ve read the manga, but I liked how it was able to explore her struggle between her devotion to God and her possible feelings for the boxer she’s been counciling. It never came off as heavyhanded or melodramatic, probably because it was tempered by all the wacky boxing stuff. I should go back and reread that sometime.
Oh, and don’t include me in your drawing. I’m all too familiar with Areala. I read more than my fair share of her comics back in the day. Don’t wanna be that guy that wins something he already has.
One Pound Gospel (the OVA) has long been on my watch list. I hope to check it out in the near future.

Mine would have to be Sister from Arakawa Under The Bridge. …. Okay, he might not *technically* be a nun, but this guy made me laugh every time he was on the screen! He’s sharpshooting and brash, but means well… mostly. He defintiely has a mischevious streak to him!
I don’t remember ever seeing an anime with a nun. Fate/Stay Night had priests, though. Oh well. I am not interested in the prize anyway.
I’m not interested in the prize-It sounds too bloody for me. I also can’t think of any nuns in the anime I’ve watched.
However, if Haku from the vocaloid song “The Daughter of White” (epilogue to The Daughter of Evil/The Servant of Evil) could be considered a nun(its definitely implied that she became one) Then I would say that she was my favourite. She experiences so many things- rejection, loneliness, friendship, loss, guilt, and yet at the end of it all, she’s still able to overcome her hatred/anger toward the person who did her the most harm and is able to forgive and empathize with her.
I’m glad you’re not interested, because as one of our bloggers, you’d be disqualified anyway. 😛
Chrono Crusade really isn’t that bloody- at least, the manga isn’t. I’m not sure about the anime since I haven’t seen it!
Oh, It’s not the Chrono Crusade I’m worried about- I’ve thought about trying it out someday, though I’m still not sure if I’ll like it(based on what I’ve heard) It’s that (from what I remember hearing)Warrior Nun Areala is rather blood(although who knows-maybe it isn’t too bloody for me. Although I did flinch/avert my eyes a bit, I have been able to watch FMA: b and FMA and read Naruto.) But it seems that it doesn’t matter, since I’m a member of the blog XD
I actually didn’t read much of the material that I’m giving away. The Warrior Nun pieces that I did read weren’t bloody – but they did contain fanservice and foul language.
Yumiko/Yumie from Hellsing, along with most of Iscariot in general. Nothing like a split-personality nun (Half gentle pacifist, half psychotic zealot) who likes to kill Protestants and blasphemers to really elicit a grindhouse-like atmosphere.
Tied with her would also be Eda, for similar reasons. Anime may do a lot of things similarly, but there’s quite the variety with nuns, now that I think about it.
Esther Blanchett from Trinity Blood, because she eventually becomes a queen. She counts, right?

Interesting question — and giveaway! Hmm though I liked Mine Shimabara from Naki Shoujo no Tame no Pavane (“Pavane for a Dead Girl” by Koge Donbo), my favorite anime nun would probably have to be Index (Index “Dedicatus545” Librorum Prohibitorum) from the light novel series Toaru Majutsu no Index (as well as its manga adaptation, spin-off manga (Toaru Kagaku no Railgun), and both series’ anime adaptations). She is a polite and sweet girl, whose entire life had been dedicated to following God and memorizing His word (note: God is a bit different in our meaning and theirs, but…). Actually, her memory is 85% magical- information and the Bible, leaving only 15% for daily activities, so she’s a bit naive. After one year, that 15% resets itself so her own magical power does not go on over-load, so she can never remember any close friends of family, of the one she truly loves. Even in realizing this at the end of each year, she always accepts it and lets it be erased. She puts the will of God and others before herself, no matter the personal costs. She knows this reset will ultimately benefit everyone and help her serve God better. She’s inspiring and a wonderful example of self-sacrifice for our God. (At the risk of giving anything else about this series away — for those who are hoping to read/watch it — I’ll stop ^^;).

I’ve started the series a couple of times, but keep dropping it a couple of episodes in – but I WANT to like it, if that makes sense.
