And we want your feedback as well! Each week we’ll ask a question on the podcast and feature your answers the next time that team rolls around. • We wrote a ton of first impression posts for the new season—a written accompaniment for this episode.
  • MDMRN and TWWK came down on very different sides regarding John Cho’s casting as Spike.
  • Peter and Holly kept referring to Kaori’s lie without giving too much away to David. And what a lie it was
  • In case you’re intrigued by kappa, Crunchyroll did a neat little article on the mythical creature a couple years back.
  • Speaking of kappa, we recommend you follow Atelier Emily for episodic posts on Sarazanmai.
  • David mentioned that MIX is from the mangaka behind Touch and Cross Game—we’ve written about both of those classic series.

  1. I’m actually glad y’all brought up Spike being Asian, because I was too chicken to mention about that. I totally didn’t expect that, so I find it kinda cool. Everyone else I wanna give a shot. However, I don’t know any of these actors, so performance wise I can’t really put my two cents on it. After seeing the link about the cast call for the Bebop crew, hearing Cho made me kinda ‘ehhh’ on him as Spike. Steve Blum has such a deep and buttery voice that’s so iconic that I’m wary how Cho can take on the suave of Spike like Blum did so well.

Leaf (@scalpelfactory), MUTUAL: I think it’s a really cool cast! I have to admit, hearing rumors about Keanu Reeves for years without any actual film materializing was getting kinda weird. I’m not a big fan of live action remakes, but Alita was cool, so I have hope.

@myles.netherton: All I know is the music better be mind-blowing!

@lyle_the_crocodile: Ein better be a corgi
Lea (@liliphantastic), MUTUAL, also answered above: Oh shoot. I said idk about Cho being Spike, but seeing this……….this might work!! 😍 Great artwork!

Corinne (@cgcornett), MUTUAL: I’m keeping an open mind and hoping it doesn’t go the Death Note route.🤞
