This season’s final episode of Wonder Egg Priority, much like the entire series, was full of meaning and allusion. One of the most powerful aspects of episode 12 was when the alternate universe version of Ai, a version who never met Koito and who herself committed suicide, found strength in the current universe version of Ai and because of that, was able to turn from meekness to courage, defending her own defender and losing an eye in the process. The loss of the eye itself is meaningful, as it was the main reason for the bullying she received and thus the downward spiral that eventually led her to suicide. She is able to put that part of her to death, and the loss is thus a gain as AU Ai sees that she has the inner strength to overcome. On a more superficial level (though on second thought, perhaps not), Ai loses her eye—and “ai” means “love.”
The piece below, by artist momoniku, shows the moment that current Ai sees AU Ai, hurting and gored, but now strong and transformed.

I loved this series, it was touching and well made, Ai is really a hero and is stronger than she believes she is. The thing that got to me about her was even when she was laughing with her friends I still could see an underlying sadness in her expression that made me want to protect her.
