Somewhere in another world, some girls infiltrate an aristocrat’s illegal slave auction and lay waste to the participants. But before we get too far into this, we’re shown a grizzly old assassin in the modern world, finishing up his final job before he takes up a post to teach up-and-coming assassins. However, it turns out that the plane flight he was supposed to take back to Japan was a trap set up by his organization to dispose of him. As he regrets his loyalty to an organization so willing to brutally betray him in his final moments, a goddess gives him an offer: to reincarnate him into a fantasy world, with his memories intact… as long as he assassinates the hero of that world while he is there.
Okay, so first of all, the structure of this episode is confusing, but basically, the first part is in media res, showing some events some time later in the story, but right when our male MC makes his shot, it cuts to the beginning, showing his life from before he was reincarnated. The rest of the episode goes up to the point where he is offered reincarnation by the goddess. As such, the heavy focus of the episode is on the protagonist’s life in our world, presumably to frame his starting characterization as someone who never questioned his loyalty or his reasons for becoming an assassin, and ultimately ends up regretting it. That said, in the original light novels, all this makes up for literally 6 pages of the prologue, and the anime decided it somehow needs to expand on all of this for most of the first episode. If you ask me, it was disappointing as it didn’t really get into the part I actually liked about the first volume, and instead I just got a lot of typical assassin drama that I definitely preferred when it was just a few pages of prologue.
It does hook you pretty well into wondering how his actual isekai-ing will actually go, but, well, if you couldn’t tell from the opening scene going all-in on assassinating a slave auction, don’t expect too much beyond your typical wish-fulfillment isekai stuff. I did enjoy the first volume of the light novel as a light, fun read, and the anime will probably be overall similar. In fact, you can probably predict how much you will like this anime by how much you enjoyed the opening scene of a guy and his harem blasting away a bunch of slave-buying nobles.

This was one of those series that had a very interesting premise but then falls into generic harem action stuff.
I found this one interesting at the start, even though the magic words being what they are doing written backwards (the spell to Fire a gun is Erif) is corny and lazy in my opinion, it still was drawing me in. And then the third episode dropped.
When it was stated that the MC was only 7, that just kind of blew things up for me. I know he is an old guy in a young body, but SEVEN?! Then they roll into magic training with a TEN YEAR OLD, followed by some magic guidance using such sexual charged language that they could have as easily been talking about sex. Which be they way, knowing they are 7 and 10 makes it SUPER creepy. Even if it can be explained as a deeply intimate experience, that just makes the world itself really creepy. So while the magic was interesting, I just can’t keep watching this show.
