One of the things I really disliked about End of Evangelion is Misato’s final scene with Shinji. It’s awkward and weird and perhaps absolutely fitting with the series, but not with the actual role Misato has taken in the teenager’s life of the big sister. I think that idea of mentor figure and caretaker, though, is depicted very well in this illustration by the artist, DIno.
