Giving to Beneath the Tangles on This Giving Tuesday

Dear Friends,

I know you have a litany of choices when it comes to which organizations to support financially. But we hope that you’ll consider us if you decide to participate in Giving Tuesday.

“Anime ministry” is still very young, but it’s an important and growing field for missions. As anime becomes more and more a part of life for young people and expands in its availability for viewers of all ages, the need to reach this group grows greater as well. And indeed, a number of content creators are making it their goal to reach otaku (more on that next week—tease!). Beneath the Tangles is likely the oldest and most well-structured group working with this purpose in mind.

This is our vision for BtT:

Beneath the Tangles is developing a transformative community where our staff members can use their passion for anime and Japanese media; love for God and for people; and skills and talents to grow into brand that is well-known and regarded among anime fans in order to facilitate a mission to reach out to the otaku community and share the gospel message through our words and actions, thereby participating in Christ’s command to teach about faith and make disciples, and care for the church by offering authentic and loving support to Christian believers who are part of the otaku community.

Will you help us do our work by contributing to us today? We’re in the midst of our annual campaign, which runs through this Friday. Our goal is to reach $250 of monthly, sustained gifts and another $250 of one-time gifts. We’re more than halfway to the second goal but have a long way to go to reach the former. Here are the platforms through which you can give and help us make it to our twin goals:

  • Patreon: Our patrons give monthly. We do offer several tiers with small rewards, and are encouraged by those that are able to donate regularly to us, which helps Beneath the Tangles plan for the future. You can also give a one-time gift.
  • Ko-Fi: A great platform for a one-time gift, Ko-Fi is where we fund individual projects but it’s also just an easy place to send us a donation if you’re so inclined! Ko-Fi also accepts monthly donations.
  • PayPal: The easiest way to give might be through PayPal! Send us a one-time gift any time you’d like!

No matter the method or the amount, your donations are welcomed and appreciated. Your support is your heart for us as we seek to bridge the gap between the Christian church and otaku, and your finances help make the work possible.

God bless and thank you!
