To add another perspective; to those interested in maintaining singleness and accepting of celibacy, more power to you. It’s a hard path to walk, but I pray for your determination and resolve. For those seeking a significant other, I’d like to offer encouragement and spur you on to what which you seek in God’s will. To find my wife, I had to do a lot of soul searching, make personal modifications in my own life, intentional intentionally engage with groups and the opposite sex and pray daily. God eventually pointed me in the correct direction to find my spouse, and I do not regretted a moment of effort put towards the search for a mate. The effort make the reward that much better. Sometimes for some people, God will ordain a wife or husband to plop down into your life for a purpose which can be both blessings and trials, but if it’s something you desire to obtain, be prepared to put the leg work in and risk your pride the the possibility of rejection from someone you like. Everyone will deal with heartache in their lives and on different levels, but there is growth to be had in it. It’s worth the attempt and risk of taking a loss to grow yourself or potential finding someone to love you on a personal level. Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.
