Giving Tuesday with Beneath the Tangles!

Welcome to Giving Tuesday!

To me, the timing of this huge day for fundraising is so peculiar. The holiday season, after all, is a time when we’re all stretched thin—maybe more so this season than usual! But the idea behind it is that people are more willing to spend right now, so why not persuade people to give to an organization that helps others rather than “to themselves” for Christmas?

I really don’t like that sneaky sort of approach. Instead, I want to offer this: giving (and tithing to your church) is really about trusting God with your finances. As we walk the path toward living more and more like Christ, we learn to surrender all parts of our lives: our career, family, aspirations, comfort, and, yes, money. So I encourage you to enter this Advent season in the spirit of surrender and giving as we reflect on the love of God, and maybe donate or give to whatever you feel being led to.

Of course, I hope you might consider us! Our mission is to bridge “the divide between anime fans and the Christian church by developing anime-related content and discussing anime and Christianity as expressed through anime, manga, and light novels; ministering to and loving Christian anime fans; and demonstrating faith by modeling Christ through interaction with our readers and followers.” And we do need your support in accomplishing it.

Thankfully, I think we’ve been faithful to do this work in 2025. We celebrated our 15th anniversary; pushed ahead with new ministries, like our Twitch stream and Above Anime; saw tremendous growth with our website and platforms; continued to see lives transformed through Discord; and much more!

As we look to 2026, we’ve kicked off our annual campaign with these three goals in mind:

  1. Reach $275 in monthly, sustained gifts
  2. Earn $500 in one-time gifts
  3. Receive one Throne item
