Christians since the Middle Ages have celebrated Advent, a counting down of the four weeks leading to Christmas in anticipation of the coming of Christ—both toward the commemoration on Christmas Day and to help us think about his Second Coming. This year, Advent started on November 30th—and we’ve been counting down in our own unique way!
On Instagram (and on my personal Twitter account), we’ve been opening a box each day of the Fullmetal Alchemist Advent calendar from Tokyopop! It’s been really fun to see what cool little treasure has opened up each day. If you’re a fan of classic anime (and obviously if you like the Elrics!), I highly suggest you pick up the calendar. It’s very cute!
I hope you’ll join us as I unbox each leading through Christmas Eve. Just check out our stories each day on Instagram, and hit our Advent highlights to see all the days you’ve missed. If you head over to Twitter, you can see a short tweet that dives more into faith as I do a quick analysis of each gift.
But that’s not all for today—I’ve got a bonus for you! We have a Christmas/New Year’s giveaway coming tomorrow for day three! If you want a sneak peek at what I’m giving away, check out this live “unwrapping” of the gift that I did last week!
