After weeks of matchups, debates, upsets, and thousands of votes cast by anime fans across our community, AniMarch Madness 2026 has crowned its champion!

And for the third year in a row, the title goes to…

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End

In the championship matchup, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End defeated Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood with 61% of the vote to 39%, earning another decisive victory and securing its place atop the AniMarch Madness mountain.

A Clash of Dynasties

This year’s final was a fitting one: a showdown between two of the tournament’s greatest champions.

On one side stood Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, the legendary series that dominated AniMarch Madness in its early years, winning four straight titles from 2016 through 2019. On the other was Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, the defending champion that captured the crown in both 2024 and 2025.

Now, with this victory, Frieren has completed a three-peat, continuing its remarkable run and cementing itself as one of the defining series in AniMarch Madness history.

Over the course of the tournament, thousands of votes were cast as fans showed up day after day to support their favorite anime. From the opening round to the championship showdown, the passion and enthusiasm of the Beneath the Tangles community once again made AniMarch Madness a joy to host.
