I LOVE Christmas songs. In fact, I love them so much that I listen to them year round. As a kid, I remember sitting in the pews at church and browsing through the hymn book, singing Christmas songs one after another in my head. I also enjoyed watching videos of Christmas songs sung by contemporary artists on television, including The Sound of Music‘ s “My Favorite Things,” which has become a holiday favorite. Last year, I changed the lyrics to this classic to fit some of my favorite (anime) things. Here is a new lyrical arrangement, focusing on some of my favorite anime from 2011.
Fam and Giselle flying over the skies;
A little white devil in mascot disguise;
A NEET detective to a teddy bear clings;
These are a few of my favorite things.
Childhood friends reunited by a ghost;
Nervous Shu pulling a void from a host;
Cross Game volume 5 all tied up with strings;
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the boss bites,
When the kids scream,
When I’m fighting mad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don’t feel so bad.
Witches and apples and chompin’ on Mami;
Begging for Takanashi plus Inami;
Rin matures like flowers rising in spring;
These are a few of my favorite things.
Chihaya making karuta look cool;
Himari’s dead so she can’t go to school;
Yay, Anna and Shu! What an innocent fling;
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the kids cry,
When the bills come,
When my wife is mad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don’t feel so bad.
I have only one thing to say: So COOL!!!
Okay I lied; two things: The snow in the background is cool also.
