Working Buddies! 2! (Hataraku Onii-san! No 2!) is the long awaited second season of Working Buddies. And by long awaited, I mean I’m probably the only one super hyped about it. Each episode of this short form series is 4 minutes long and follows two anthropomorphic cats doing odd jobs during college. Our lead cats are a calico named Tapio Chatorazawa and the Russian blue named Kuehiko Roshihara. The first two minutes of the episode actually give you a summary of this interspersed with random clips from Season 1. Why? Well, their odd job for episode 1 is as animators….for their own show. It’s one of the most meta moments I’ve seen in a while.

The first episode of Working Buddies! 2! it all the same great beats of Season 1. It was silly. It was focused on its gag of the episode and its random job. It kept the personalities in tact and brought in a new, over the top boss. All in all, for a short, I’m still having a lot of fun with the new show. Hoping to see more of these ridiculous cats and what jobs they get into this season.
