I’m so hyped for Pokémon Sword and Shield! 😃
I am currently playing Pokémon White and plan to finish it before the new games come out. I don’t know what the titles of the gen. 9 games will be. Maybe something more complex rather than simple (X/Y, Sun/Moon, etc.)
The next Pokemon game should come in three parts because Nintendo knows they’ll be able to sell more copies if they just make more versions, demonstrating how they have everyone almost addicted to the franchise. The next games should be called “Hook, Line, and Sinker”.

The whole Matrix paradigm with Promised Neverland ties well in with the Bible and definitely back to Plato’s story of the cave. A group of people who live inside the cave not knowing the outside. They tell stories to each other using shadow puppets. One person eventually goes outside and sees the real world and comes back in to tell his group about it, but they don’t believe him. He won’t shut up about it because he knows the truth. Eventually they have to cast him out or kill him. It also parallels the story of Adam and Eve but from the opposite perspective where knowledge casts you out of the safe comfortable world they lived in previously. It’s also similar to the stories from the Bible about the prophets and how we as Christians know the one true God. We’re not meant shut up about him because we know the truth about the world we live in, and we want to share that with everyone because we should care about and love everyone.
Once you know the truth, you cannot go back to ignorance, and at least in our world I pray that I’d never want to reject Christ in exchange for ignorance and pleasantries on earth.

Well put, Tyler. Yeah, There are definitely those parallels. It reminded me of an anime called Psycho Pass as well, which has the similar dilemma presented. I too hope that I would never choose to reject Christ and become ignorant and enslaved to my sin once more. For freedom to sin is no freedom at all! Haha, what do you feel like are the positives to those new Pokemon games? What brings you to play new ones? I always had this feeling that it was the same concept over and over again. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it when I was younger, but I guess as I got older, it just seemed more and more repetitive.
You’ve said not to say anything spoilery, so I’ll add in my two cents as a manga reader: what Emma said about happiness in freedom in Episode 9 is actually an anime-original moment, but it nonetheless is in-character for her to say it. I love how that you were able to make a parallel with the quote to the Christian lifestyle, in that it’s much more preferable to face suffering/persecution in light of what we’ve experienced through Christ than it is to go back to where we once were.
