Call for Staff: Webmaster and News Editor

At Beneath the Tangles, we’re always looking to expand our team of volunteers to develop better and more wide-ranging coverage of anime, manga, light novels, and other related otaku goodness. Right now, we’re in particular need of two positions:

Webmaster

The webmaster will administer all web and technical aspects for Beneath the Tangles, and provide maintenance as needed. The responsibilities for the job are to back up and update WordPress versionsl troubleshoot as needed, including communication with WordPress or other tech support; work with the administrator to plan for and execute design changes; and add, modify, and troubleshoot plugins. He or she would ideally have WordPress experience, particularly with backing up before updating versions, plugins, and basic troubleshooting; basic understanding of blogging and blog terms; basic web language knowledge (HTML, CSS, & JS) or willing to learn if not known; willing to invest time to learn on-the-go as needed if issues are unfamiliar; and protect log-ins and passwords as needed.

News Editor

As you might have seen, we’ve started doing news coverage with the addition of Doki Doki News. We are also looking for a news editor to help increase our visibility by sharing anime news content with our audiences and possibly managing a news team. Most primarily, this individual will develop frequent blog posts that link to articles of interest and create original news articles based on reporting. He or she will need to follow and develop relationships with anime bloggers and journalists and have a passion for keeping up to date with anime and the anime industry. Other possible responsibilities include developing and writing email newsletter with links to BtT articles and other articles of interest; tweeting news articles of interest; and developing Facebook messenger group for disseminating anime news.

All positions are currently unpaid and volunteer, and it goes without saying that all also require high integrity and character, a love for people, and a passion for Christ and evangelism.
