Regional #1 Seeds

There are your first 13 teams into the tournament! And now…here are your four number one seeds:

Shounen / Popular Region #1 Seed: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Critical Darlings Region #1 Seed: Haikyuu!
Staff Favorites Region #1 Seed: Your Lie in April
2018 Anime Region #1 Seed: Fairy Tail

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, the three-time defending champ, is the number one seed overall. These seeds, and all the others, were determined through a variety of factors, but mostly based on how they’ve been reacted to by Beneath the Tangles readers and subscribers (or in the case of the Staff Favorites region, BtT staff) and primarily, if they’ve participated before, how well they’ve done in the tournament. Therefore, Your Lie in April trumps more popular or critically acclaimed series based on those factors.

    1. Just as with the NCAA tournament, your bracket is a prediction of who will win. Once you’ve completed yours, you’re entered—you’ll just need to wait and see if by the end of the tourney, your bracket got the highest score.

But all through the month, the tournament will be going on—you can vote on our weekly posts here (starting Monday) and also on our social media sites. Those votes are what determines who moves forward!

              1. There should be a question to answer: when it asks how many teams are in the NCAA tournament, enter “64.”

The winner is the most accurate bracket—the one closest to how it actually turns out. Points and so forth are discussed in the rules on the previous post.
