Following up our recent interview with the directors of Appare-Ranman, Caitlin Glass and Shawn Gann, we’ve had the opportunity to also speak with a number of the voice actors involved in the dubbed version of this wonderful anime about a diverse group of characters involved in a transcontinental car race. First up are Lee George (Appare), Ivan Jasso (Kosame), and Emi Lo (Hototo), the voice actors behind the golden trio at the center of the series, who joined me through Zoom. Among other topics, we dive into how they voiced their characters on the show, what it’s like to go from fan to voice actor, how the VA industry has evolved in this extraordinary year, and what representation means for young people and to them personally.
