Next year will mark our 15th year as a ministry. Can you believe that? God is so good! And it’s been a wild ride! From starting with a guy in his mom’s basement (okay, maybe not, but this enterprise did start out simply as a WordPress blog) to now having a thriving community, we’ve seen God work through so many lives just by loving the anime community and sharing our hope in Christ.
As we enter 2025, we ask you to help us continue with our ministry by helping us fund it. We’re not a non-profit and don’t have sizeable contributions coming in, but the small amount of financial assistance we receive from individuals makes a huge difference in keeping Beneath the Tangles afloat and indeed, in helping us grow in our impact on the nations. Here are a few of the ways that your gifts are used:
- To fund social media campaigns that inform others about our ministry
- To train staff
- To pay for the website and other digital expenses
- To help our staff create content through subscriptions and cost reimbursements
- To fund giveaways and contests
Our annual campaign kicks off today and ends this Friday with three modest goals in mind:
- Reach $250 in monthly, sustained gifts
- Earn $100 in one-time gifts
- Introduce our Throne giving account to our community
You can help us reach our goals through these platforms, with details described below:

That first goal would increase our giving by about 20% a month, which could dramatically change how we can do things at Beneath the Tangles—increasing the quality of our content and helping us make more of it! To reach that goal, we need supporters to donate through Patreon where our levels are all Naruto-based, from Ninja Academy and Genin levels, which are $1 and $2 a month respectively, up to our Kage $25-a-month level. Please consider becoming a patron for us through Patreon. You can also give monthly through Ko-Fi. Either works for us, and we appreciate all the gifts!
That second goal is for all you folks who want to give to us just once this holiday season. We appreciate your generosity in doing so! You can help us reach that one-time goal of $100 by giving through Ko-Fi; you can also provide a one-time gift through Patreon or Paypal.
Finally, we’re excited to introduce Throne! These are subscriptions and gifts that are specifically requested by staff to help us develop our content and reach people better. We only have a few gifts up there right now: we encourage you to check them out and perhaps make a specific purchase to help our team!
