Can anime point us toward truth?

At Anime Matsuri 2026, I joined Tiff from Few of the Many for a discussion about the biblical themes woven throughout anime. Together, we explored how stories of redemption, sacrifice, forgiveness, perseverance, humility, hope, and reconciliation appear throughout the medium—and why those themes resonate so deeply with audiences around the world.

Rather than asking whether anime is “Christian,” this panel asks a different question: What can Christians learn from the stories anime tells?

Along the way, we discuss series including Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Jujutsu Kaisen, and others, while also talking about why storytelling matters and how anime can become a bridge for meaningful conversations about faith.
