8. The Promised Neverland
Like a few other series on this list, The Promised Neverland hit viewers with style and substance. Unlike others, it also brought with it horror and a constant sense of dread. From the initial episode, which plunges us into a nightmare for what the the world in the series holds in store for its sweet, innocent characters, and all the way through as our mains try to find a way out, we’re left to wonder who will survive, how they’ll survive, and what survival will mean—those questions have only been answered in part through a season’s worth of heart-pounding and beautifully woved episodes.
